If your laptop is unusable and you do not have access to a different laptop/tablet/desktop computer (which I would recommend using instead of your phone), then you can access Canvas using the web browser on your phone.
Follow the below instructions to submit assignments using your phone:
Login to Canvas using the Web Browser on your Phone
Open the web browser on your phone.
Login to Canvas here: https://bestpracticenet.instructure.com
You can use the Canvas Student App to submit your assignment, however you will still need to log into Canvas using your phones web browser before accessing ePortfolio,
Navigate to your Assignment and check what you need to submit
Once logged in, use the Modules page to find your assignment, on the assignment page follow the instructions to complete the assignment. Usually this involved writing your own work in a document or entering details into a provided template.
Open the ePortfolio
When you have completed your assignment so it is ready for submission, open the ePortfolio.
You can find a link to the ePortfolio page at the bottom of the assignment page or the modules page.
On the ePortfolio page there is a button asking you to open it using a web browser via a new window.
This will open a new window/tab on your phones web browser and automatically log you into your ePortfolio account.
Submit your Assignment File using ePortfolio
Once you are in the ePortfolio select the Unit the assignment is part of, then you will be shown a page of all assignments that are part of that unit of your course.
On this page there is a button called 'Upload Contribution'. Once you have click on this button you will be then taken to a 5-step process to upload your assignment:
Step 1: Select the assignment criteria that applies to your assignment submission
Step 2: Upload your assignment file - you will need to browse for the files on your phone in this instance so make sure they are somewhere your phone can access them.
Step 3: Confirmation your file has been successfully upload
Step 4: Add Notes - You need to enter something in here for your assignment to be submitted, so enter anything relevant - your Assessor will see these notes.
Step 5: File Submitted for Assessment!
And that's it - you have submitted your assignment work via file upload using ePortfolio on your phone!
