How to use the Canvas Inbox and Messages functionality

Text Instructions
- The inbox in Canvas can be used in a similar way to Outlook emails, you can use it to contact colleagues and tutors who are linked to your course.
- It can be found on the left-hand menu.
- Opening it, you will see something similar to your personal email. The left side will have all your messages and the right will show you the content of the message thread.
- You can filter it using the top two drop down boxes to make it easier to find certain messages, such as by “Read” or “Unread” or by the courses you are apart of.
- To create a new message, click on the pen icon on the top right side of the screen. You can then search for the participant or teacher that you want to message.
- Add a subject and the content of the message, then press “Send”.
- Just like with an email, if you need to attach a document, click on the paperclip to attach any documents that are needed to be sent.
