As part of your course, you will use a tool known as the ePortfolio. This is used to submit specific assignments you have been given on your course. The ePortfolio launches separately from Canvas but does look very similar.
Follow the guidance below for details on how to use the ePortfolio:
- Accessing the ePortfolio
- The ePortfolio Dashboard
- ePortfolio Overview Page
- Submitting your Assignment using the ePortfolio (Upload Contribution)
- Review previously submitted Assessment Criteria
- Contact your Assessor (Message your Marker)
- How to use the ePortfolio video
Your ePortfolio can be accessed by logging into Canvas, selecting your course and clicking on ‘Modules’ in the navigation found on the left side of the page.
Your ePortfolio can then be accessed in 1 of 2 ways:
1) View the page for the relevant assignment you need to submit, scroll to the bottom of the page, then click on the 'ePortfolio link'.
2) On the Modules page, scroll to the bottom and click on the 'ePortfolio' link under the ‘Tools’ section.
Once you are on the ePortfolio page click on the 'Load ePortfolio in a new window' button to launch the tool in a new browser tab/window.
The first page you will see is the dashboard, here you just need to click on 'View' for the relevant unit of your course that you want to view or submit an assignment to. This will take you to the ePortfolio Overview page for that unit.
The Overview page shows a list of all Assessment Criteria (AC) for the unit you selected.
Using the ePortfolio tab at the top of the page you can also view previously submitted assignments.
The speech bubble tab is where you can view any progress on an assignment.
On the ePortfolio Overview page you can review each AC and see what you submitted as well as previous discussions. You can also Submit an Assignment (Upload Contribution) and Contact your Assessor (Message your Marker) from the right side of the page.
Using the list of Assessment Criteria you can see how many files you submitted, the status and a 'Review' button for further details.
For each Assignment you submit specific Assessment Criteria (AC) apply.
As an example: Assignment 1 may have AC 1.1 and 1.2 applied to the assignment.
If you are unsure of the AC for the submission, refer to the relevant assessment task page on Canvas.
Each of your AC will be colour coded depending on its submission status:
If you have not submitted your assignment yet the AC will look like the below image:
The colour for the row is grey, no files have been submitted and the status will show as 'Awaiting Contribution', if you click the 'Review' button there will not be any information to view.
If you wish to review previously submitted AC you can click the 'Review' button.
There is also box on the right called 'progress' which shows a doughnut chart indicating your progress.

- When you submitted the assignment
- Any messages you or your Assessor have made in relation to that Assignment
