The ePortfolio, accessed via the participant dashboard, allows you to submit assignments, track progress, review submissions, and contact your assessor. Use the Overview page to see Assessment Criteria and submission status. Submit assignments by uploading files, selecting criteria, adding comments, and completing submission steps. Review past submissions and message your assessor through the platform. Guidance video and detailed instructions are available.
You use the ePortfolio to submit specific assignments from your course. Access it through the participant dashboard, where you can also review submissions, monitor progress and contact your assessor.
How to access the ePortfolio
Log in to the participant dashboard. The ePortfolio launches from the dashboard.
Underneath your programme enrolment, you will see a pink button for the ePortfolio.
How to use the ePortfolio Overview page
The ePortfolio Overview page lists all the Assessment Criteria (AC) for the unit you selected. The ePortfolio tab at the top of the page also allows you to view assignments you have previously submitted.
The speech bubble tab shows progress on an assignment. On the right side of the Overview page, you can select Upload Contribution to submit an assignment or Message your Marker to contact your assessor.
The list of Assessment Criteria shows:
- How many files you submitted.
- The submission status.
- A Review button for further details.
Specific Assessment Criteria apply to each assignment. For example, Assignment 1 may have AC 1.1 and AC 1.2 applied to it. If you are unsure which Assessment Criteria apply to your submission, refer to the relevant assessment task page on Canvas.
Each Assessment Criterion is colour-coded according to its submission status.
If you have not submitted your assignment, the Assessment Criterion row is grey, no files are listed and the status is Awaiting Contribution. Selecting Review at this stage will not show any information.
The Progress box on the right contains a doughnut chart showing your progress.
How to submit an assignment
On the ePortfolio Overview page for your unit, select Upload Contribution. You must then complete five steps. Follow the on-screen instructions and select the green Save and Next button after completing each step.
- Select the Assessment Criteria that apply to the assignment by selecting the appropriate checkboxes. If you are resubmitting an assignment, scroll down the page; previously submitted Assessment Criteria will be shown provided the work has not been marked.
- Upload your files by selecting the upload box and locating them, or drag and drop the files into the box.
- Review the documents and confirm that they are the correct files.
- Enter a comment for your assessor. This is important because, without a comment, the assignment will remain in drafts and will not be marked.
- Complete the submission. Your assignment is then uploaded to the ePortfolio, and your assessor is informed that it is ready to be marked.
Assessors usually have work from multiple participants and courses to mark, so they may take a short while to mark your assignment.
How to review previously submitted Assessment Criteria
On the ePortfolio Overview page for your unit, find the relevant Assessment Criterion for the assignment you want to review. Select the Review button to its right.
The Assessment Criterion will expand to show:
- The files you previously submitted, including a link to view each submitted document.
- When you submitted the assignment.
- Messages that you or your assessor have added about the assignment.
How to contact your assessor
On the ePortfolio Overview page for your section or unit, select Message your Marker. A box will appear containing a list of your assessors or markers.
- Select the assessor you want to contact if you need to reach a specific person.
- Enter a subject and message.
- Select the green Send button. Your assessor will be informed that they have a message to respond to.
Assessors usually support multiple participants and courses, so they may take a short while to reply.
