If your laptop is unusable, you can submit an ePortfolio assignment via your phone’s web browser, though using a computer or tablet is recommended. Log in to Canvas on your phone, find and complete your assignment, then open ePortfolio through the assignment or Modules page. Upload your assignment file, select criteria, add required notes, and confirm submission to complete the process.
If your laptop is unusable and you cannot access another laptop, tablet or desktop computer, you can submit an ePortfolio assignment through your phone’s web browser. Using a computer or tablet instead of a phone is recommended where possible.
Log in to Canvas on your phone
- Open the web browser on your phone.
- Go to https://bestpracticenet.instructure.com/ and log in.
You can use the Canvas Student app to submit your assignment, but you must still log in to Canvas through your phone’s web browser before accessing ePortfolio.
Find and complete your assignment
- Open the Modules page in Canvas and find your assignment.
- Read the instructions on the assignment page to check what you need to submit.
- Complete the assignment. This usually involves writing your work in a document or entering details into a provided template.
- Make sure the completed assignment file is stored somewhere your phone can access.
Open ePortfolio
- When your assignment is ready to submit, find the ePortfolio link at the bottom of the assignment page or the Modules page.
- On the ePortfolio page, select the button that asks you to open ePortfolio in a web browser through a new window.
- A new window or tab will open in your phone’s web browser, and you will automatically be logged in to your ePortfolio account.
Upload your assignment in ePortfolio
- Select the unit that your assignment is part of. You will see all the assignments within that unit of your course.
- Select Upload Contribution.
- Select the assignment criteria that apply to your submission.
- Upload your assignment file by browsing the files available on your phone.
- Check the confirmation that your file has uploaded successfully.
- Add notes. You must enter something in this field for your assignment to be submitted, so add any relevant information. Your assessor will see these notes.
- Complete the process until you see confirmation that the file has been submitted for assessment.
Your assignment has now been submitted through ePortfolio using your phone.
