To complete a quiz or survey in Canvas, select "Take the survey," answer all questions including multiple choice, essay, or file uploads, then click "Submit quiz." For file uploads, start the assignment, upload your file, add comments, and submit. To retake, select "Take the survey again." Confirmation with completion time will appear. To complete a quiz or survey in Canvas, read the activity overview, select Take the survey, answer each question and select Submit quiz. Canvas will then show confirmation of your submission.
How to complete a quiz or survey
You may need to complete quizzes or surveys throughout your course. If a module includes one, a different-coloured box will provide an overview of the activity, including its purpose, requirements and, where necessary, a due date.
- Select Take the survey to load the questions.
- Read each question carefully and check which type of answer is required.
- Complete all the questions.
- Select Submit quiz in the bottom-right corner.
- Check the confirmation page, which shows the date and time you completed the quiz or survey.
Question types may include multiple choice, multiple answer, essay-style answers and file uploads.
How to answer a file-upload question
- Select Start Assignment in the top-right corner of the screen. The upload window will open at the bottom of the page.
- Scroll down and select Upload file.
- Select the file you need to upload.
- Add any comments.
- Select Submit assignment.
How to retake a quiz or survey
To retake the quiz or survey, select Take the survey again. Canvas will use your most recent submission.
