Canvas announcements appear in the Announcements list and on the Canvas home page. Tutors and Best Practice Network staff use them to share course content, session recordings, assessment info, office closures, and other important updates. Students receive email notifications unless disabled. Announcements cannot be created by students. Video instructions are available on YouTube.
You can find Canvas announcements in the Announcements list. The most recent announcements also appear at the top of your Canvas home page.
How to open a Canvas announcement
- Find the announcement in the Announcements list, or find a recent announcement at the top of your Canvas home page.
- Select the announcement topic to view its content.
What Canvas announcements are used for
Your tutors and Best Practice Network employees use Canvas announcements to contact your group or cohort. Announcements may include:
- Helpful course content.
- Session recordings.
- Information about assessment windows.
- Information about office closures.
- Other information your group needs to know about your course.
You cannot create an announcement.
How you are notified about announcements
You should receive an email for each Canvas announcement unless you have turned off this notification.
